Step 2: Select Curtain Style
The curtain style decides mood and environment of the room. Choose from of the styles that suits best for your environment:
- Grommet / Ring Top: Modern, clean, and incredibly easy to slide open and closed.
- Rod Pocket: Offers a classic, gathered look that works beautifully for curtains that stay mostly closed.
- Back Tab: Offers a smooth look and where curtain are rarely moved.
- Pleated (Double or Tripple): Double pleated curtains provide an elegant and executive look while triple pleated curtains are usually suited for larger rooms providing very formal environment.
- Wave Fold: Offers an elegant easy to operate and everyday use practical and classic style. Most suited where curtains are moved frequently like every day or multiple time in a day.
Step 3: Light Control & Heat Insulation
Your room curtains do more than just space transformation—Curtains also help controlling light, insulation and privacy levels of your home. Each of the fabric provides some level of privacy that can be enhanced by selecting the right curtain lining for each room. The linings that go at the back of the curtains are of three types:
- Standard Liner: Best for living spaces, living room, dining room and home offices. These lightweight, light-filtering liners offering a clean, contemporary look while filtering soft daylight along with fabric into your space.
- For Maximum Darkness: Choose dense blackout curtain lining to stop harsh UV rays and completely dark out media rooms or bedrooms to an undisturbed sleep.
- For Thermal Insulation: Depending on the fabric and coverage, thicker custom curtains act as an insulating barrier against heat in the summer and retain warmth during colder months conserving energy.
Step 4: Measure Your Windows (See measuring guide for each style)
Accurate measurements are the secret to a flawless, custom look. There are three core rules for measuring windows:
- Measure the Curtain width, Not the Window: Always measure the full width of your curtain rod or track from left to right, not the window by itself.
- Calculate the Curtain Drop: Measure from the top of your rod down to where you want the window curtains to end (e.g., floating just above the floor or puddling gracefully).
- Account for Fullness: For a rich, pleated look, ensure your total curtain panel width is roughly 1.5 to 2 times wider than the actual rod width. You just measure your total curtain width and we will take care of the fullness to provide elegance.
Step 5: Unpacking, Maintenance and Fabric Care
Unpacking and Wrinkle Removal: When Curtains are received, they may have fold wrinkles. Using steamer is recommended for removing wrinkles.
Proper care helps keep curtains looking attractive and functioning well over time.
- Regular Dusting: Vacuum your curtains gently with a brush attachment as needed to prevent dust buildup.
- Washing and Drycleaning: Drycleaning is recommended for cleaning curtains to preserve their color and texture. Always verify the specific fabric care instructions before attempting to machine wash, steam, or dry clean your custom drapes.
